Basic functionality

The device will inhibit stuttering utilizing two AAF techniques, namely Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) and Frequency Altered Feedback (FAF). Adjustable DAF of 250 milliseconds and below as well as adjustable FAF in 1 Hz steps is achievable. Gain adjustment for both the dry (unaltered) and wet (altered) signals as well as master gains are available.

User Interface

User interfacing is implemented as shown in Figure 1. A 2.5mm socket connects the headset to the unit. A 6 button Keypad allows control of the master volume control, and mode selection. A power LED shows that the unit is operating. During a low battery condition, the unit will cut power to the audio interface and the LED will start to flash.

The bottom panel of the unit houses the mini USB interface connector and the recharger socket. The USB connector is used to interface the unit to a PC and allows the unit to be customized using the V601i Control Panel software.

The charging status is indicated by a bi colour LED. The unit will retain any user settings while switched off or during charging.

The unit will start to charge as soon as the 3.8V DC power socket is connected. The green LED indicates that a power source is present and the red LED indicates that the unit is charging. When the red LED is not lit, the unit is fully charged.
